1993 Mercedes Benz 190e belt damper

How do I replace the small shock absorber looking piece it is broken? I believe it is a belt damper.

Hello .. thanks for the donation .. much appreciated Release the tension using nut (1)simply unbolt the top and bottom nuts of damper and remove and replace with new then re-tension the belt!!
