Hi, I just put a brand new interstate battery in my Benz. Sometimes my car doesn't start. I think it's the alternator. When I try to start, it appears like the battery is dead. The lights go dim inside and out. Then I get a jump, and the car starts right up.

start vehicle and use a multimeter across battery terminals .. you should get a reading of 13.5 volts or over @ idle .. if not replace alternator ... have the battery tested .. even a new battery could be faulty
