Electrical problem
1991 Mercedes Benz 190e 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I want to use my Tomtom ONE/XL together with my Cobra Gatso 'two into one' adaptor/convertor plug. When I try this the 16amp fuse blows. (I have a 16amp fuse as this car has an electric roof). Can I SAFELY increase the size of the fuse? I am concerned that I do not want to put strain on the wiring of this 19 year old car as it is my pride and joy.

no, you should never ever replace a fuse with a larger amperage fuse to prevent it from blowing. the only solution to your problem would be upgrading the old wiring with better gauge wiring to handle the additional stuff you are adding.
