Hi, great site. If I turn the steering a loud screeching noise is apparent from the left hand wheel area. This is audible when still or whilst driving. I have taken the wheel off, but cannot detect its origins. It does sound like rubber on ribber but I might be mistaken, I am finding it difficult locating the actual problem area. Please help me I cannot sleep at night :)

Rgds,

Try this while making the lef turn and applying the brakes at the same time is the noise still there then comeback and tell me.

On that side do you have anything there that's belt operated?

Hi,

No this does not make any difference at all. There is nothing belt driven that I can see. It is onlt when truning the steering wheel, regardless of left or right.

Thx

You sure its not coming from the power steering belt-

If its a FWD jack it up and try duplicating the squeal

It squeals when stationary and engine off, if I put my weight on the front wing and let it up.
I thought that it was coming from the rods connected to the wheel and steering system, but I can't really tell. It doesn't sound like metal on metal, but I'm not sure. I've got to drive it everyday and it's bothering me.

Thanks!
