1985 Mercedes Benz 190e turn signals

The turn signals will not work. Bulbs and fuses are ok. They sometimes work if you switch on the emergency flashers and turn signals at the same time. Is there just one flasher device or two? Where is it located?

just one flasher unit for both the signals and hazards. it is located in teh main fuse/relay box (at left rear corner of the engine compartment).
