1999 Mazda B3000 Dome Lights On
Another question is.....does your truck have four doors? If so make sure that the upper and lower latch are latching....if not the front doors can move engouh to turn on the dome light when going over bumps or when the cab flex's

[quote:e499b8ca3f="Cosmo"]Well the door ajar switch is in the door panel itself and part of the door latch....its a little tricky to get at though, even with the trim panel off.

Then lube it up and try the door a bunch of times...this might fox your truck.

It's hard to remember everything. Somethimes, Us Service writiers know what we are "guessing" about, if not we blame it on the tech.
Suggested Repair
Clean debris from the door-ajar roller switches in the door latches, then lubricate all latches, including the rear lower latch. Use electrical contact cleaner or brake cleaner first, then a light penetrating lubricant, and work the doors. If it returns, inspect the wiring in the door-hinge flex and confirm the upper and lower latches fully latch.
Conversation Summary
A 1999 Mazda B3000 owner reported intermittent dome lights and a door-ajar warning that sometimes stopped for weeks. Experts said the ajar switch is part of the door latch and advised checking that the upper and lower latches on a four-door fully latch, then cleaning and lubricating the latches. The owner found debris in a latch roller switch, cleaned and lubricated it and the rear lower latch, and the lights appeared to stop. Another owner said unplugging the switch stopped the warning after lubrication and replacement did not.
