The truck has been sitting a while and my battery was 6 years old, and I replaced the battery when the battery light came on. After that the battery light was still on and my alternator was making the engine sound like a jet getting ready to take off. I replaced the alternator as well but my battery light is still on. Could I have a short somewhere in my electrical system?

HI there,

Check that you don't have a separate charge fuse that has blown, and check the alternator output at the main terminal at the alternator as well, see if it is charging.
