Well, I found out the exhaust pipe connected to my resonator had fallen into the resonator so I ordered and installed a Bosal resonator this past week. Sounded fine, figured that this would pass emissions since I failed them back in January. I also changed out the spark plugs (Bosch Platinum 2's), cleaned out the air filter, changed oil, oil filter, etc. Well I just got back from the inspection place and it failed again. Hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide were high. Catalytic converter may be bad, not sure, any help would be greatly appreciated!

It does sound like your cad is bad, but don't fret. You can find um cheep enough on the internet but if that's still to price oriented for you, snag one of a truck in the junkyard and have your local muffler shop weld it in for you. Try to find a newer one, not nesisarely off of the same model. They all pretty much do the same things.

Yeah, I am going to call the local dealership and see if they have one I can buy and install today, hopefully get this resolved. Oh, word to the wise! DO NOT BY A BOSAL REPLACEMENT RESONATOR! The flange that connects to your cat DOES NOT FIT! I had to cut the one from my stocker, tack it up, and weld it on the Bosal resonator to make it fit! I regret not getting the stock replacement, oh well, lesson learned. Thanks for the info man! Appreciate ya!
