Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Mazda RX7 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 82000 miles

my car starts fine when its cold put it into gear and it dies when the motor warms up it starts to smoke from the rear of the motor and wont start again if it dies everything I have read about it leads me to conclude that my apex and rear main seals are blown would you suggest having someone rebuild it (5000 for rebuild w/ porting and 3mm apex seals) or ordering a gasket kit and doing it myself I am somewhat mechanicaly inclinded but never worked on a rotary any suggestions

Hi there,

If you have never worked on a rotary I would be suggesting that you either get a mechanic to assist you or get them to do it for you, best to be safe and get it right first time.
