1990 Mazda RX7 Stuck in reverse

Stuck in reverse
and wont go in to nutural. Will shift but no matter what place first or second ect. When I release the clutch its still in reverse or it dies no matter what gear I put it in. And still again I cant get it in to nutural.

Hi
Suspect shifter to control lever connecton fault. Pull up shift boot to access remover shift retainer see control lever end is it attached? Is shifter ball in socket? Any damage?
