mazda 1987 non turbo only sparking at one coil what would the problem be could it be a bad crank sensor?

It could be a bad coil, coil wire, rotor, distributor cap. Pull the wire off the spark plug, attach a spark plug to the wire and ground the spark plug against the engine, have someone turn the engine over, see if you get spark to the plug. If no spark you may have a distributor problem.
