1985 Mazda RX7 Two Wheel Drive Manual 115000 miles

The oil gauge registers not pressure When we
disconnectd the gauge and grounded it the gauge went to the maximum so we don't think the gauge is the problem. We then installed a new oil sensorand recoonnected the gauge. The gauge did not register eith the new oil sensor

Do you hear any type of engine knocking noises?

If you installed a new oil pressure sending unit and using a mechanical gauge and there's no oil pressure indicating-the oil pump is gone or the component that drives the oil pump
