Engine Mechanical problem
1985 Mazda RX7 Automatic 212000 miles

My 85 Rx-7 12-A Carb motor will not idle at all. You can sit there and hold the gas above 2000 rpms and it will run but run badly. When you watch the fuel spray into the barrels it is just spitting fuel sporadically. I have replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump is less than 2 years old. Checked the fuel pressure. Cleaned out the check valve on the fuel return line off the carb. I have checked all the fuel lines to make sure nothing got pinched somehow. Also have replaced plugs wires and that whole shabang.

sounds like internal carb problem. try creating a vacuum leak and see if it runs better, its quite possible that the float is stuck open dumping too much fuel.
