1984 Mazda RX7 not getting fuel

drivin car,and it died. So,I thought it was out of gas.. Added fuel to tank(with gas can). Tried starting again and engine would just turn.Put some gas into carb. to help prime it and it would run.....til you pulled the gas can away...Is it most likely the fuel pump??

To rule out the fuel pump you have to check it with a fuel pressure gauge-might be coming On but not producing the correct fuel pressure.
