I get a rattle when starting and acceleration that becomes less frequent after about 5 minutes. My local mechanic says it's metal shavings in the catalytic converter. But I have found a few of these 1.25" twisted double-end insulated copper wire things in my garage and driveway. Any ideas what they are and where they come from?

Hi,

Are you sure they are from your vehicle? I've never seen those on one before. As far as the rattle, it could be the internal part of the converter that has come loose. That can cause the rattle or even a heat shield.

Is it possible for you to record the noise and upload it for me to hear?

Let me know.
