2002 Mazda Protege heater makes motor squeak

when i turn on the heater,,,,a loud squeal comes from the area of the fan belts and pulleys. It gets louder as I accelleraate than goes away. It will do it all over again when i come to my next stop.

your generator belt is loose/worn you could try tightening it up .. but it may be due for a new one ...

it's not a heater problem it's your alternator belt. I have the same problem in my 96' protege. countless people have this problem and the solution for it is unknown. if you tighten your belt it will stop it temporarily.
