2002 Mazda Protege ABS + EBrake Light Problem!!!

Hey guys, I got a 2002 Protege5 and my ABS and Emergency Brake Lights came on the other night at the same time. I was wondering if you can give me an idea of whats wrong! There dosen't seem to be any difference in drivability. I did notice the other day that when my abs kicks in (while sliding on snow), they seems to be making this weird grinding noise while they pulse. This is the first car i ever had with abs brakes and i just bought it a week ago, is this normal from abs brakes! Any information at all is helpful, Thank you very much for your time guys!!

Steve, the first thing to check is the fluid level in the master, if it's low you probably need a brake job! As the pads wear, the pistons in the calipers push farther outward, as this happens the fluid in the master reservoir fills the bores, dropping the level in the resv. When it gets low enough, the light turns on...Dont just add fluid, whe the calipers are pushed back during pad replacement, it fills the master back up. The grinding is the ABS motor pumping the brakes, it's normal.

Thanks for your speedy response guys but im way ahead of you lol! I checked out the fluid level, just had new pads and rotors installed. I jiggled the abs relay today and the lights haven't come back on yet, maybe it is a bad connection with the pins on the relay. I thought that it might be the abs sensors though.
