2000 Mazda Protege air flow sensor

Mazda protege 2000
I replaced the engine with a used one.
I have the check engine light on and the code pointed to air flow sensor. The engine is stalling and it hardly starts when is cold. Do you think the sensor is causing those ? Thanks a lot !

yes, also check your idle air control valve
