I have a problem exactly the same as an earlier posted problem (March 25, 2008) by Ricky Bastarache wherein the o/d light starts to blink, the engine revs up but the car does not go any faster. When I pull over and turn the car off, the problem disappears. This happens intermittently. Has anyone with the same problem managed to get it fixed and if yes, what is the solution?

Hi D
unfortuneately this is one of two possibility,s.
the trans computer or a shift sensor.
it will need to go to a trans shop to determine which one it is.

If it is the computer labor will be low and part will be high.if it is a sensor then it will depend how easilly the sensor is accessed, some are external some internal. external will be cheap internal will be expensive. ty for writeing
