Hi there ,
this sounds as if it is a problem with the shift hub locking ring, there is no real way of testing this until the box is dismantled. may be just check that the cables for the shifter are ok first just in case.

Something else I can add is the it is worse when I am going up hill and not that bad when I am going down hill, It stays in when I am going down hill.
Could you explain how I can check the cables, please?
And what is the "shift hub locking ring"
Also someone said to me that it could be an engine mount might be bad, is that possible?
