1996 Mazda Protege battery light

we changed the alternator in my husbands 96 mazda protege and the battery light will not shut off. Why doesnt the alternator keep charge after we installed a new one?

Hi karen8686 and TY for the donation Check all these fuses, main fuse 80amp, fuel inj fuse 30amp and meter fuse 15amp if these fuses are okay-double check connection behind the alternator- test the wiring to the ignition switch and also the charge indicator-Also see below EWD unable to read it give me your email addy
