Brakes problem
1991 Mazda Protege 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

i am trying to change the rear break shoes, but i can not get the drum off, any help will be appreciated....thanks

Hi there,

If you have a brake drum that wont budge, there may be a lip worn on the inside of the drum and you will have to back off the hand brake cable & the brake adjuster this will draw in the shoes and allow the drum to be removed, you may need to give it a decent belt with a copper hammer (wearing safety glasses) as they can bind on to the rear hub sometimes as well.
