Engine Mechanical problem
1991 Mazda Protege 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I just replaced blown headgasket on my 91 mazda protege, everything looked pretty good, cleaned out head and block replaced gasket torqed the head to spec. put intake and exhaust manifold back together. also replaced coolant and new oil. But now wont start and when i turn the car over its shoots the water out of the exhaust pipe. I checked oil and there is no water in oil so i assume the new gasket is working. Please help ive changed head gaskets many times and have never had this problem. Is the head bad? Or is the gasket not working? Please help. Thank you

Did you have the cylinder head checked for warpage/crack could be the problem
