1998 Other Mazda Models OIL!

What kind of gear oil does a 98 Mazda b2500 (2X4 5 spd 4 cyl) use. I went to a parts store today and they said to use automatic transmission fluid!!!!! in a manual!!! Please let me know.

I'm just double checkin. its not my truck and i dont wanna blow the seals out of "Not-Mine" transmission. I just went to 2 websites that said ATF in a manual gearbox. But a couple that said 80w oil.
