1993 Other Mazda Models Engine misses

This just started. I noticed that the engine misses and idles rough. Alos I noticed that there is a tapping noise coming from the engine. All the plug wires are connected and I didn't see any leaking sparks.

You may want to run the engine on an oscilloscope, this will give a true indication as to the viability of the ignition system, You wont always see a spark earthing, nut what you describe does sound like it, you could just change the plugs, leads, & filters, but the scope will show coil voltages & ignition pattens as well as identify any earth leakage, a good mechanic will diagnose any basic problem on a scope in under 5 min.
