1986 Other Mazda Models Fuel sensor

Mazda E2200 When fuel tank is full the gauge is full but when it gets to about 3/4 full it goes straight to empty. Do i need to replace the sensor inside fuel tank? if so please tell me how in detail or send a diagram.
