1991 Mazda MX5 Hard Shifting

I have a 91 Miata with 114,000 miles. When Cold the 1st to 2nd gear upshift is real hard to do. Down shift is no problem. Onceit is warmed up, no problem. Any ideas?

sounds like fluid is too thick. try calling mazda and see if they have a updated fluid.
