1993 Mazda MX3 tapping

Noises problem
1993 Mazda MX3 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 160k miles

1.6L Engine 4 cyl.


I have some tapping in the engine, its not really bad nor is it too loud but it is there, what could be the cause and what is the best way to go about fixing the problem?

Try adjusting the valve lash-could also be worned lifters-

with the tapping is it ok to drive short distances back n forth to work?

Not advisable-Why don't you change the oil and filter to a higher grade oil and see what happens-

ok, thanks for the help. and one more thing, would Mystery Oil and or lucas oil help too??
