1993 Mazda MX3 blue smoke out of exhaust

Hi I am just trouble shooting. I bought the car and soon afterwards blue smoke was coming out of the exhaustand some one told me it might be a problem with the fuel regulator. I dont know what the problem is and I am just looking for a insight.

HI there,

Blue smoke is a sign of oil burning, if it was excessive fuel it would be black, try doing a service and change the filter use mineral oil say 20W-50 and see hoe that goes, if this still smokes, take note of when it dose, hot, cold start up, driving under highway conditions, idling hot and or cold. And report back,
