2002 Mazda MPV Engine Code Reader

I would like to know what Engine code reader I can buy that will read the codes. Autozone says their reader can't read it because you need a new connector, and the Mazda dealer can't figure out why the engine check light stays on. They replaced the thermostat and the coolant, the cerpentine belt, the mass flow sensor, and the check engine light stays on even after a hard reset.
So I would like to buy the reader.

Help, I need somebody!

Just took my '02 MPV to Autozone and they read it fine. Advanced did too.
