what would cause the engine to make noise that travels back through the air filter compartment

What kind of noise? maybe valve train or miss fire

not a misfire. more of aloud air noise that only happens when i accelerate very quickly

Air being sucked into engine is normal. Any hoses loose? air box sealed? air filter clean?
