1994 Mazda MPV burning oil

Howdy, I'm burning through a quart of oil every 2-3 tanks of fuel. Does this sound like rings? Is replacing the engine something a moderate mechanic could do? Having never pulled an engine before.

To find out where its actually leaking at do an engine compression test and cylinder leakage test
