2003 Mazda Miata Using Oil

Engine Performance problem
2003 Mazda Miata 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 110000 miles

Over 3-4 weeks I keep having to add a lot of oil to the car engine. There are no visible leaks, spotting etc, so I'm wondering whats going on.

It is either leaking it or burning it.

One way to check is to get a compression tester hose, remove plug, screw in hose, attach to compressed air, set compressor at 50psi.

If air comes out valve cover, then rings, if air comes out throttle body, then intake valve, if air comes out exhaust pipe, then exhaust valve.

Could also be valve stem seals, or guides.
