I am having difficulties in filling my fuel tank, I noticed the problem about 4 years ago and thought ti was limited to certain gas stations when the at the pump the nozzle would stop a couple of time doring the fill at some stations and would function without incident at others. Now I can only refuel a few cents at a time even when the tank is completly empty because the fuel spills out. I have checked to see if anything has been jammed in the filler neck but seems to be clear. I never leave the filler door open and I am the only driver. What is causing the problem?

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

The fuel is coming out of the filler because the air being pushed out by the incoming gasoline has no good outlet. Ensure that the hose(s) in filler neck have not come loose or been damaged. Another possible issue could be the angle of the filler neck itself. Some vehicles are just made difficult and you have to hold the fuel nozzle about 1" away from being completely in the filler hole.
