1995 Mazda Miata cranking the car

I purchased this car for my daughter and drove it 2 hours home and it was working fine. A couple days later we started to drive it and it would not stay cranked. It will crank for a couple seconds but will not stay cranked. My daughter has not even got to drive the car. What could be wrong with it?

Lets check the alternator whether its putting out and the battery is taking the charge. Get both of them load tested then we'll get into other areas.
