Hello:
My 1991 Mazda Miata is still in good shape and recently had an oil change/inspection come back with no issues. However, when I go to start it recently it never starts on the first try and sometimes takes 4-5 turns of the key with me pumping the gas pedal as I attempt to start it. It has been consistently starting eventually but is starting to make me nervous that I will get stranded somewhere.

The battery on it is brand new and fully charged.

Hi Flair2404,

Thank you for the donation.

Problem seems to be due to low fuel pressure. Get the fuel pressure tested to see if they are within specs.

It should be between 64 - 85 psi.

Hi
Maybe fuel pressure needs to be 64-85 psi. Also dirty injectors and carbon on valves wiil cause hard start. Put some SeaFoam cleaner in fuel system see if there is improvement. Also how old are plugs fuel and air filters?
Let me know
Thanks for donate
