2002 Mazda b3000 oil pressure gauge

I have a 2002 mazda b3000 3.0 v6. The oil pressure gauge has started to flutter during stops. it just started and is now progressing. What gives!!??

change the sending unit, or test the pressure by removing the sending unit and installing a pressure gauge. read the pressure it should be 40-60 psi at 2500 RPM with the engine at normal operating temp.
