my truck died on the side of the road I got it home and replaced the mech.fuel pump under the hood and it still will not stay running I pour some gas in the carb. and it starts, runs for a few sec. and dies. Is there another fuel pump in the gas tank?

Fuel pick-up sock in the fuel tank could be clogged-up or the camshaft lobe where the fuel pump arm rides is worned out.
