I have a 1996 mazda, es, 626 with 106000 my car has recently been overheating and leaking coolent from the passenger side, I called my mechanic and he said it could be the water pump and timing belt now I want to have an idea of how much it would cost me and how long the job is going to take to get it fix?

If you haave a 626 ES.I take it that it is a 2.5L V6. If it is leaking out of the passenger side of the engine compartment. It is a safe bet that it is a water pump. And if it leaking that bad, its a good idea to replace the timing belt (since it was due at 100km's or 65miles) its a good idea to change it anyway. Another thing that would not be too surprising to find wore out is. The timing belt tensioner. Now this can all get pretty expensive. Don't be surprised to see a quote in the 4.5-5 hour range.
