My son's mazda overheats when the a/c is on in stop and go traffic. It's fine during expressway driving. I noticed that the electric fan does not run constantly with the a/c on even in hot weather but turns off and on. Could this be a fan or relay problem.

Hi dducolon,

Both fans operate erractically?

It could be the relays. If only 1 fan is affected, then high probability it would give way soon, the carbons are running out.
