2002 Mazda 626 Automatic 198500 miles

How can you tell if you may have trash in your gas tank? My check engine light keeps blinking and when the car is idle it skips and it does it when you press the gas pedal also.

You need to get codes pulled from computer. Go to Auto Zone they do it free then post.
