Was looking under car to solve rattle. Solved rattle but found another issue. Rubber boot near front left tire is cracked in half, is leaking oil. Front right has same issue but less severe. Do I only need rubber boots or do I need new universal joints? How much should it cost?

Hi there,

At this stage you should only have to do the boots as if the grease is still in the CV's they should still be ok, the boots are only around $20.00 and you may only be looking at a 2 hr job + the replacement grease, check your local labour rates.

Thanks for the free advice! I had confidence going in. I ended up having more problems then I thought and ended up needing 2 new axles, 2 new rotors, and 2 new break pads, but I left the place only paying $450 so I think it was okay.

I'll use this service in the futre and try and donate.
