2000 Mazda 626 alternator belt keeps breaking!!!!

2000 Mazda 626 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The alternator belt on my 626 keeps squeeling and has broken 3 times this year. I replaced the water pump, alternator, and put a new belt on the car. When i cranked the belt squeeled again and the new alt. was not turning it worke before i put it on. Please help.

Thank you for the donation.

Seems the alternator is not turning due to some other fault.

Check the crank pulley harmonic balancer. If it is bad, it would not allow the alternator to turn and cause squealing noise.

It would also cause premature wear of the belt.
