My car stalls in hot weather only. I can drive 12 miles on the highway in 70 degree weather and wont stall, but if I drive in stop and go traffic in the same weather it will stall. If it gets to hot like 90 degrees I can drive about five miles on the highway before it stalls. I had it stall at home once and checked for spark and got an orange spark but I havent checked anything else.

Hi jdoz,

Thank you for the donation.

When stalling occured, were you able to restart and was it easy?
Is the Check Engine Light indicating?

Orange sparks seems to indicate a weak ignition coil and this can cause stalling after heating up.

Does the stalling occurs only when slowing down or stopped?

What is the idling speed after warmig up engine?

When it stalls it wont start back up until 15 or 20 minutes later depending on the weather if its really hot out maybe 30 minutes. Check engine does come on but no codes show when scanned. The stalling has happend while slowing down, at a stop light but also at 70mph on the freeway. Havent check idle speed but it seems normal.

Followng are what you shoyuld be checking when it could not start.

"Â Check fuel pump volume and pressure.
"Â Check fuel pump relay.
"Â Check condition of spark plugs.
"Â Check by-pass air control valve.
"Â Ensure crankshaft position sensor has correct resistance value.
"Â Check for cracks and poor connections at mass airflow sensor or throttle body.
"Â Check ignition coil resistance.
