Is it possible for the water pump on this vehicle to sometimes leak. It at times appears to look like drips coming from the pulley area!On a domestic vehicle the area would indicate water pump and it would continue to leak daily. On this mazda it might be leaking 1 day you top the radiator off and it might not leak again in that area for 4 or 5 days and the water level is full. When it is leaking though you always have to add water.Just kind of curious can they sometimes do and sometimes don't

Anything is possible try pressure testing the cooling system and see if it's leaking. If you can't find it that way get some coolant dye and add that and follow the dye to the leak.
