1997 Mazda 626 Trouble Starting

1997 Mazda 626 6 cyl 160000 miles

My 1997 Mazda 626 has recently experienced some trouble starting if it has not been running recently. If the car has been off for over 5/6 hours I will have to turn the key 2, 3, or sometimes 4 times before it starts. My best guess is fuel pump relay problem but not too certain. Thanks for the help.

You are correct in your analysis but it could also be the fuel regulator.

Check the fuel pressure at fuel rails.
