Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Mazda 626 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

engine wont start. has spark, timing correct. no fuel pressure. turned key to on position, pump does not engage. cranked engine, does not engage. turn key to off. pump engages for 2-3 seconds. dropped tank and tried another pump, same result. diagnostic tool showed no codes. not sure where to proceed. pump relay or intake problems ? some books call it a MAP sensor, others call it something else. are there any physical test procedures I can do to isolate the problem ?

Inspect and test the main relay and fuel pump relay-if both okay-check the computer control of the fuel pump relay circuit
