1997 Mazda 626 alternator removal

1997 Mazda 626 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic n/a miles

Hi, I am trying to remove an alternator from this car, it seems that the only way to get this out is to remove the CV shaft so it can fall out the bottom, is there an easier way ?

you will have to remove the transverse member and the exhaust pipe in order to replace the alternator
