My car has 71000 miles and is 12+ years old. I have been the sole owner. It is not my primary car but I hope it lasts for a few more years. FOr the most part the car has been pretty cheap to maintain although recently I had to repair some heater hoses as the car began to smell poisonous. I have yet to do the replacement of the fan belt which is scheduled for the 60,000 mile check up. 2 car dealerships have told me I should do it. The repair is very expensive as they are recommending doing a few other side projects while fixing the fan belt given it is a difficult place to access. What are my chances the car can last another 9000 miles or 2 years before doing the repair? 30%? 50% 70% etc?
Thanks

hard to say as i cannot see the belts condition but id go with 70% chance it lasts the life of the vehicle, if they say it is bad though it probably is.
