1995 Mazda 626 the oil filter

hi this is the frist time i see that and in my shope and when i change the oil in this mazda i look at the filter there is no any drop of oil insinde can you tell me what happen? thank you

Hi there,

some oil filters don't use a one way valve and the oil can drain out when the engine shuts down, now this is not a huge problem as often the oil pressure is up with in a few rotations of the engine and the paper element is still oil soaked and some oil is still in the base of the filter, this is not a big issue at all.
